Through the BTA Black History Hub, we will share artist + community insights, thought, and suggestions regarding:

• Industry-based inequalities for tattoo professionals within an intersectional approach
• Adverse media representation that reinforces patterns of racial/ethnic and gender inequality among tattoo artists
• The social construction of deviance and its historically varied connection to tattoo culture
• A social history tracking broader social forces and their impact on tattoo microsystems
• Tattoo culture as reflective of popular culture dynamics; the process of co-optation
• The unintended impacts of mainstreaming on the tattoo industry
