This special collective strives to help ambitious artists and creative geniuses take their craft to greater heights using tools and resources acquired through BTA’s mentorship programs and events.
addressing the historical erasure of Black artists and Black tattoo culture from the creative community. We envision curating a new experience for Black creatives - one where pioneers, matriarchs, and professional artists craft an outline of the historical milestones, movements, and contributions through artistry with the tattoo industry, allowing aspirants and other young artists (inspired by the crafting and healing modality) a way to see their future selves and possibilities.
BTA is the brainchild of the 2nd most prominent Black female tattoo artist in the US, lifetime creative and master tattoo artist,
Imani K Brown.
Our mission is to educate the next generation of creative geniuses with the knowledge of their community, culture, and history, while empowering them to break barriers using the perspectives of tattoo, and equip them with entrepreneurial skills to build and sustain a lucrative creative lifestyle and career.
Our unique Board of Directors are the rich aunties of the BTA village.
